How LED changes the work of a Lighting Designer

On NordLED 2010 Lighting Designer Guðjón L. Sigurðsson, Verkis, Iceland, will present some of his thougts on how LED changes the work of a Lighting Designer

The use of LEDs is becoming more and more valid and demands more technical skills from the lighting designer than before.
Clients, architects and authoritative are expecting lighting designers to use it because of electrical savings.
Architects discover how to hide the light source and not using “body fixture” or invent it themselves.
How do we react on this?
How do we transfer the knowledge of the “old” light source to the “new” one or do we have to?
Are standards still standards?
What about the chain of supply from manufacturer to the client?
Who will be the manufacturers of the future?
How do we present our work and make sure that what we design is what we get?
Can we create a “new” space perception with LEDs?
These are all questions that Guðjón L. Sigurðsson will try to answer in his presentation.
